Transfer Programs
Four-year universities require students to complete certain requirements for the bachelor's degree; among these are general education and major requirements. Los Angeles Southwest College offers transferable courses which are equivalent to the lower division (i.e., Freshmen and Sophomore) requirements at other colleges and universities. Among these colleges and universities are the following:
- University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)
- University of Southern California (USC)
- California State University, Northridge
- California State University, Los Angeles
- California State University, Long Beach
- California State University, Dominguez Hills
- California State Polytechnic University, Pomona
- California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo
- University of California, Santa Barbara
- University of California, Irvine
With counseling and careful planning a student can, in most instances, transfer as a junior with his or her lower division major requirements and appropriate general education requirements completed.
Students who were ineligible to enter the California State University or the University of California from high School can become eligible for transfer upon completion of 56 transferable units (provided that appropriate grade and course requirements have been met).
