About Us

Welcome to LASC Counseling Center where friendly counselors are available to assist students in meeting their educational, career, or personal goals. Whether transferring to a four-year university, earning an associate degree, or career certificate we are always available to help our students. Our counselors are available depending on the type of service required by appointment or walk-in basis.

• The following is a list of services that we provide:
• Friendly service to LASC students
• Explain requirements to earn Associate Degrees, Certificates, and transfer to four-year colleges and universities
• Recommend appropriate referrals when needed
• Work with students to develop educational plans
• Offer academic and progress probation workshops
• Assist students in filling out financial aid and college applications
• Assistance in the completion of petitions (e.g., financial aid, graduation, academic renewal)
• Utilize resources from the world wide web to access information from private and public four-year colleges and universities inside and outside the state of California
• Connect students with appropriate resources to obtain scholarships
• Help students to make appropriate course selections before registration
• Assist students in making career choice and provide an understanding of the different majors offered at Los Angeles Southwest College
• Provide personal counseling to help overcome educational and personal barriers to achieve a more meaningful college experience
• Assistance in determining which courses are transferable from LASC to a four-year college or university.
